Babson and Mass. Maritime will meet for the 25th time on Saturday afternoon in a series that dates back to 1978. The Beavers are 23-1 all-time against the Buccaneers and have won 19 straight matchups going back to 1990.

Spencer Low '16 and Scott Doten '16 combined for four goals and six assists for 10 points as the Beavers defeated Mass. Maritime, 16-5, on April 16, 2016, in Buzzards Bay. Junior Axel Brown and sophomores Niall Dillon and Brendan Duffy all contributed two goals apiece in the victory. Reed McLean scored three times to lead the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers edged Babson 5-3, in 1988.

Mass. Maritime (4-4, 0-1 NEWMAC) got 11 saves from sophomore goaltender Michael Dolan, but were held to just two second-half goals in an 8-6 loss at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday. Sophomore Kevin Parnell scored twice and first-year Ben Avakian added a goal and an assist for the Buccaneers. Junior Keaghan Bartley (11-14-25) leads the team in assists, Avakian (15-5-20) has tallied three man-up goals and first-year Michael Sharry has won 54.5 percent of his face-offs. Senior Alec Plotnikiewicz paces the defense with 14 caused turnovers, while Dolan has posted an 8.99 goals against average and a .511 save percentage in eight starts this spring.

Babson (4-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) is looking to snap a three-game skid following Wednesday's 13-7 loss at Rensselaer. Dillon scored four goals and first-year goaltender Christopher Aranalde made 13 saves for the Beavers, who were limited to just 12 shots on cage. Sophomore Samuel Mishkind (20-4-24) and first-year Owen Allen (16-6-22) have combined for six man-up goals, while Dillon (13-6-19) is tied for second on the team in assists. First-year Kevin Klempner has won 51.5 percent of his face-offs and junior Jack O'Donoghue has scooped up 63 ground balls to go with a league-high 24 caused turnovers. Aranalde has posted a 9.72 goals against average and ranks 17th in Division III with a .600 save percentage.

Junior Connor Maloney, who won 7-of-11 face-offs against Rensselaer on Wednesday, has won 63 percent (17-of-27) of his restarts over the last two years against the Buccanneers.

O'Donoghue and seniors Zach Cattaruzza and Daniel Madden all picked up six ground balls and combined for six caused turnovers in last year's win over Mass. Maritime.

Babson will host its fourth CAN Recover Awareness game on Saturday against Mass. Maritime. The Concussion Awareness Network (CAN) Recover Foundation was started in 2013 by men's lacrosse alum Aaron Rocha '14 and former Army hockey player Mike Santee. The core mission of the non-profit organization is provide effective support to student-athletes and their loved ones who are undergoing a prolonged concussion recovery.

The Beavers are 3-1 at home this season and have won eight of their last nine games at MacDowell Field going back to last spring.
