Brown Named to NEILA Senior Academic All-Region Squad

AMHERST, Mass.—Babson College senior Axel Brown (Little Compton, R.I.) was recognized for his success on the field and in the classroom when the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) released its Academic All-New England squad on Monday afternoon.

Brown was one of 92 seniors from Divisions I, II and III to earn NEILA Academic All-New England honors. In order to be named to the team, players must be a senior that is a major contributor on the field in addition to carrying a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

A four-year standout for the Beavers, Brown produced eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 15 contests as a midfielder this past spring. He had one man-up tally and also scooped up a career-high 15 ground balls.

Brown appeared in 65 career games for the Green and White recording 75 goals and 31 assists for 106 points. He ranks 15th on the program's list in goals and is 17th all-time in points.

Babson tied for a share of its second New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title in four years and finished 9-7 after suffering an overtime loss to Springfield in the conference tournament.
