LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—The Babson College alpine ski teams combined to record five top-10 finishes as the women finished second and the men took third place in the giant slalom at Whiteface Mountain.

The Beavers finished as the runner-up in the women's race for the second time in as many days and for the fifth time in six races this winter behind a trio of top-10 results. First-year Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) put together a pair of solid runs to finish fourth with a time of 2:11.26. Junior Tatum Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) was just 1.05 seconds behind her in sixth place, while senior Kristen Sweeney (Westport, Conn.) came in eighth with a time of 2:13.98.

Classmate Megan Jones (Essex, Mass.) finished 17th overall for the Green and White, which was just over five seconds off the pace of first-place Brown.

The Babson men were again led by first-year Douglas DeLuca (Holderness, N.H.), who came in third to post his third podium finish in the last four races. He had two strong runs to finish just over a half-second off the pace with a time of 2:07.11, while classmate Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) came in seventh overall with a time of 2:08.93.

First-year Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) improved his time by 0.13 seconds on his second run to finish in 14th position, and junior T.J. Pope (Bountiful, Utah) came in 22nd for the Beavers, who finished behind first-place Clarkson and second-place Connecticut.

Babson returns to the slopes next Saturday when it competes in the first of two races at Crotched Mountain in Bennington, N.H.
