QUEENSBURY, N.Y.—The Babson College men's alpine ski team got podium finishes from sophomores Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) and MacIntyre Henderson (Park City, Utah) and recorded a trio of top-three results over the weekend at West Mountain. The Beavers placed second and third in a pair of slalom races on Saturday, which was followed up by a runner-up finish in the giant slalom on Sunday.
Blanchard started the weekend by posting his second victory of the year in the first of two slalom races. Sophomore Douglas DeLuca (Holderness, N.H.) came in sixth less than four seconds behind him, while senior John Boland (Waitsfield, Vt.) and Eli Wolfson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) came in 14th and 29th, respectively.
After failing to complete his second run in the morning race, Henderson came in fourth in the evening slalom to lead the Green and White to a runner-up finish. DeLuca (9th), Blanchard (11th) and sophomore Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.), who came in 14th, were all separated by less than a second.
Babson wrapped up the weekend by placing all six skiers in the top 25 in Sunday's final GS race of the regular season. Henderson came in second, while Blanchard and Robinson finished less than a second apart in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
DeLuca came in 14th, Wolfson finished in 23rd position and Boland placed 25th overall.
The Beavers wrap up their MacConnell Division regular season schedule with a pair of slalom races at Proctor Ski Area beginning on Saturday.
