McNamara, Winn Earn All-New England Accolades

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its all-region teams on Wednesday, and Babson College senior co-captains Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.) and Brendan McNamara (Exeter, N.H.) were both honored. Winn was named to the All-New England First Team, while Mcnamara was selected to the All-New England Third Team.

Winn's fourth consecutive All-New England nod comes after yet another record-setting season. The 6-foot-3 forward broke his own program mark for points in a season, finishing with 14 goals and 14 assists for 42 points in 21 games. At the conclusion of the season, he was named NEWMAC All-Conference First Team for the fourth straight season and received his third consecutive NEWMAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Year award. He graduates as the program's all-time leader in both goals and points, finishing with 56 goals and 29 assists for 141 points in 83 games.

The anchor of the Babson defense, McNamara garnered his first All-New England selection after the finest season of his four-year career. The 6-foot-2 back played 21 games for the Beavers, helping the team post a 1.02 goals against average and nine shutouts. McNamara also played a key role on the offensive end, scoring the first three goals of his collegiate career, including the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Roger Williams. He graduates with three goals and five assists for 11 points in 69 career games.

With Winn and McNamara leading the way, Babson posted a magnificent record of 16-4-2 this fall while winning its first NEWMAC Championship since 2004 and earning the 19th NCAA Tournament bid in program history.
