Winn Garners First Team All-America Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- After guiding the Babson College men's soccer team to the 2008 NEWMAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth, senior co-captain Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.) received the nation's highest honor when he was named to the National soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America First Team on Friday.
Winn's second career All-American honor comes on the heels of yet another record-setting season in which he broke his own program mark for points in a season with 14 goals and 14 assists for 42 points in 21 games. At the conclusion of the season, he was named NEWMAC All-Conference First Team for the fourth straight season and received his third consecutive NEWMAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Year award. This past Wednesday, he earned All-New England honors for the fourth straight year, garnering a First Team selection for the second time. He was named Second Team all-region after his freshman season, First Team as a sophomore, and Third Team last year.
With Winn leading the way, Babson posted a magnificent record of 16-4-2 this fall while winning its first NEWMAC Championship since 2004 and earning the 19th NCAA Tournament bid in program history.
Of the 17 All-Americans in Babson men's soccer history, Winn is just the fifth player to earn national First Team recognition, joining program greats Dan Pucci (1996), Mark Sullivan (1985), Mark McNabb (1983), and Jim Fisher (1982). The 6-foot-3 striker will graduate this spring as Babson's all-time leader in both goals and points, finishing with 56 goals and 29 assists for 141 points in 83 career games.
