Men's Soccer Hosts Alumni Game at First Annual Babson Athletics Alumni Weekend

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Babson College men's soccer team hosted an alumni game on Saturday, April 18th as a part of the first annual Babson Athletics Alumni Weekend. Over 25 Babson men's soccer alumni came back to campus to participate in a friendly game against the current Babson men's soccer team.
Babson College hosted its first annual Athletics Alumni Spring Celebration weekend, bringing nearly 300 former players, coaches, and family members to campus. Hundreds of alumni attended an afternoon BBQ on the Upper Fields on Saturday, April 18th. Several programs hosted alumni games in the morning, including women's lacrosse, field hockey, men's soccer, men's and women's tennis and ice hockey while Babson also played host to seven home varsity events.
Highlighting the spectacular weekend was the 12th Babson Athletics Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony on Friday, April 17th. Two of this year's five inductees were soccer stars Jim Fischer '83 and Dan Pucci '98. Fischer was a member of the 1979 and 1980 National Championship teams, scoring the game-winning goal in the title game as a sophomore. He was also a two-time All-New England selection and an All-American in 1982. He was accompanied by two-time All-American and 1996 CAC Player of the Year Pucci, who ranks third on Babson's all-time list with 92 career points, including a program record 34 assists. He also led the Beavers to the 1997 ECAC New England Championship and after graduation was drafted to play professional soccer in Europe.
