WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Babson College swimming and diving teams traveled up I95 to take on Division II foe Bentley College on Wednesday night. The women's team lost their half of the meet, 129-102, while the men fell to the Falcons, 128-88.
Babson's first-year and sophomore classes once again highlighted the day for the women, which posted a total of six event victories. First-place finishes came courtesy of sophomore Mia Filippini (Lake Forest, Ill.) in the 50 freestyle, first-year Sara Martinek (Riverside, Ill.) in the 100 free, first-year Mallory Mosk (San Clemente, Calif.) in the 100 back, and Nikita Nadkarni (North Brunswick, N.J.) in the 100 breast. Mosk, Filippini, Nadkarni, and first-year Brittany Bishop (Little Neck, N.Y.) added a victory in the 400 medley relay, while Bishop, Martinek, first-year Chandra Kelley (Natick, Mass.), and first-year Meaghan Rohde (St. Paul, Minn.) finished first in the 200 free relay.
First-year Tom Foutsitzis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) factored in on three of Babson's four victories on the men's side of the meet. He finished first in the 50 free and 100 fly while also teaming up with senior tri-captain Philippe Noelting (Toronto, Ontario), senior Ricardo Ramirez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), and sophomore Mauricio Krantzberg (Cancun, Mexico) in the 200 free relay. The Beavers' fourth win came from sophomore Joel Bonina (Marstons Mills, Mass.), who finished first in the 100 breast.
