The Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished up their regular season with a road sweep of Bridgewater State on Thursday night. The women claimed a 148-117 win over the Beavers, while the men prevailed, 168-100. The Babson women placed first in 11 of the first 14 events, with sophomore Mia Filippini (Lake Forest, IL) leading the way with three individual wins to go along with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay. The men saw five athletes claim two individual wins apiece, including first-year Tom Foutsitzis (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who also tacked on two relay victories.
In addition to her relay win, Filippini placed first in the 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke and the 50 butterfly. First-year Sara Martinek (Riverside, Ill.) tacked on three wins, taking first in the 200 free, 100 free, and joining the 200 free relay team, while classmate Nikita Nadkarni (North Brunwsick, N.J.) added wins in the 50 breast, 100 breast, and the 200 medley relay.
Foutsitzis collected individual victories in the 50 free and 50 fly while also joining the Beavers' first-place 200 medley and 200 free relay teams. Also recording two individual wins apiece were junior Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) in the 200 free and 100 back, first-year Geoffrey Suen (Scarsdale, N.Y.) in the 50 breast and 100 breast, and senior Thayer Glasscock (Franklin, Tenn.) in the 100 fly and 200 I.M. Senior captain Philippe Noelting (Toronto, Ontario) chipped in with a win in the 50 back while taking part in both victorious relays, while fellow senior captain Mario Rodriguez (Villahermosa, Mexico), senior Ricardo Ramirez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), and first-year Ryan Pope (Hawthorne, N.Y.) each swam in a relay win.
