Men's Swimming In Seventh Place After Day Two At NEWMACs


DAY TWO RESULTS

NORTON, Mass. -- The Babson College men's swimming and diving team remained in seventh place after day two of the NEWMAC Championships at Wheaton College on Saturday. The Beavers boasted five top-10 finishes, including three individuals and two relay teams.

Highlighting the day for Babson were junior Ted Plaisted and senior captain Philippe Noelting, who finished 6-7 in the 100 backstroke. Plaisted placed sixth with a time of 53.43, while Noelting followed in seventh with a time of 53.96.

Also placing in the top 10 was first-year diver Ryan Pope, who came in ninth overall with a score of 299.45. Babson's 200 medley relay team of Noelting, senior Ricardo Ramirez, first-year Tom Foutsitzis, and sophomore Mauricio Krantzberg added a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:38.06, while Plaisted, Krantzberg, first-year Matt Turkot, and first-year Mike Regan finished fifth in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:21.04.

Other top finishers for the Beavers included senior Thayer Glasscock, who came in 14th in the 400 IM, Foutsitzis, who placed 14th in the 100 fly, Plaisted, who came in 18th in the
200 free, and Ramirez, who finished 20th in the 100 breast.
