Swimming and Diving Falls To Wellesley, Coast Guard

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Babson College traveled across town to participate in a tri-meet with Coast Guard and host wellesley College on Tuesday night. The women's team fell to both the Bears, 192-101, and the Blue, 206-93, while the Beaver men lost to Coast Guard, 170-122.
Babson posted a total of three event victories, all of which came in the men's half of the meet. Senior Aaron Paradis continued his brilliant season with two more wins, as he swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events., while senior captain Ted Plaisted added a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke.
Along with its three wins, the men's team added eight second-place efforts. Sophomore Ryan Pope was runner-up to Paradis in both diving events, while sophomore Tom Foutsitzis finished second in both the 50 free and 100 fly. Also placing second were Plaisted in the 100 back, first-year Greg Bissett in the 100 free, the 200 medley relay team, and the 200 free relay team.
On the women's side, Babson received second-place performances from first-year Keira Yeager in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team. Other top finishes for the Babson women included third-place efforts from sophomore Nikita Nadkarni in the 200 breast, sophomore Brittany Bishop in the 50 free, first-year Nevart Varadian in the 1-meter diving event, and the 200 free relay team.
Both Babson teams return to action tomorrow night, when they host Gordon College in a dual meet beginning at 6 p.m.
