Paradis Selected To Compete At NCAA Division III Championships
After posting a top-three finish in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the recent NEWMAC Championships, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) has been selected to compete at the 2010 NCAA Division III Championships for the second time in his outstanding career. One of 22 divers selected, Paradis will join fellow NEWMAC divers Brian Sobel and Matt Fitzgerald of Springfield at the 2010 NCAA Championships at the University Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The men's 3-meter competition will take place on Wednesday, March 17, while the 1-meter event will be held on Friday, March 19.

Paradis Earns All-Conference Honors As Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Seventh At NEWMACs
Senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) finished second overall in the 3-meter diving competition to earn Second Team All-Conference honors as the Babson College men's swimming and diving team completed its weekend at the 2010 NEWMAC Championships at Wheaton College on Sunday. The Beavers, who finished seventh as a team, featured two top-ten finishes on the final day of competition. The 2007 NEWMAC Diver of the Year, Paradis placed third in the preliminaries with a score of 436.45. He then posted a score of 476.35 in the finals on Sunday night, placing him second overall behind conference champion Brian Sobel of Springfield (512.25). As a result, Paradis earned All-Conference honors for the second time in his outstanding career.

Men's Swimming and Diving Completes Day Two of NEWMAC Championships
After the second day of competition in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships hosted by Wheaton College, the Babson College men’s swimming and diving team dipped to 7th place overall with 181 points. Senior diver Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) placed 3rd in the 1-meter diving finishing with 463.60 points. The best individual swim of the day came from senior Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) who finished 9th out of 29 in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.64. The final seven events will take place starting Sunday afternoon.

Men's Swimming And Diving In Sixth Place After Day One Of NEWMACs
The Babson College men's swimming and diving team kicked off the 2010 NEWMAC Championships at Wheaton College on Friday. The Beavers stood in sixth place overall after the first day of the three-day meet. Babson's best overall finish came in the first event of the competition, as the 200 free relay team of senior captain Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.), first-year Edvard Arnet (Tokyo, Japan), junior Mauricio Krantzberg (Cancun, Mexico), and first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.) placed sixth overall with a season-best time of 1:28.10. The Beavers' second 200 free relay squad of first-year Michael Flaherty (Walpole, Mass.), sophomore Ryan Pope (Hawthorne, N.Y.), first-year Greg DeWitt (Southburt, Conn.), and first-year Joe Kent (Moscow, Russia) also turned in their best time of the season, placing 11th with time of 1:29.31.

Four Winter Teams Set For Postseason Play
Four of Babson's winter sports are set to head into postseason play this week, as men's and women's basketball, ice hockey, and men's swimming and diving enter their respective conference championships. Headlining this week's competition will be the women's basketball team, which finished the regular season with a record of 22-3 overall and became the first team in NEWMAC history to go 18-0 in league play. The Beavers, who have won 14 straight games - the second longest streak in program history - are the top seed in the NEWMAC Tournament, and will begin their defense of their 2009 NEWMAC title with a home quarterfinal game against eighth-seeded Coast Guard Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $4 for adults, $2 for senior citizens, and $1 for students with IDs, with Babson students being admitted free of charge courtesy of the Student Government Association.

Paradis Tabbed NEWMAC Co-Diver of the Week
After winning three of this four diving competitions this week, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) has been named the NEWMAC Co-Diver of the Week along with Springfield rival Brian Sobel. The two favorites off the boards for the upcoming NEWMAC Championships went head-to-head this past Saturday, with Sobel taking the 1-meter event and Paradis winning the three-meter competition.

Men's Swimming Finishes Regular Season With 170-127 Loss To Springfield
The Babson College men's swimming and diving team closed out its regular season on Saturday, as the Beavers fell to visiting Springfield College, 170-127. Babson posted five event victories on the day, including wins by first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.) in the 50 fly, first-year Ryan Akiba (Corona del Mark, Calif.) in the 50 breast, and the quartet of Bissett, first-year Edvard Arnet (Tokyo, Japan), first-year Mike Flaherty (Walpole, Mass.), and junior Mauricio Krantzberg (Cancun, Mexico) in the 400 free relay.

Swimming and Diving Flies Past Bridgewater State
The Babson College men’s and women’s swimming teams had a strong showing at Bridgewater State College on Thursday evening winning 22 of the 26 events. The men won by a score of 134-69 and the women finished on top by a score of 116-87. The men will close out their regular season with a home meet on Saturday against Springfield at 1:00pm while the women will next swim at the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships starting on February 19th at Wellesley College.

Plaisted, Foutsitzis, Bishop Highlight Swimming and Diving Meet At Wheaton
The Babson College swimming and diving teams lost both ends of a dual meet at Wheaton College on Saturday. The women's squad fell by a score of 180-102, while the men were bested, 154-137. Senior captain Ted Plaisted and sophomore Tom Foutsitzis both had magnificent afternoons for the Babson men, as each factored in on four event victories. Plaisted finished first in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM while also swimming the opening leg of the 400 medley relay. Meanwhile, Foutsitzis added individual wins in the 50 free and 100 fly, and he swam on the Beavers' victorious 400 medley and 200 free relay teams. Sophomore Brittany Bishop excelled in the women's half of the meet, winning the 100 free and placing second in the 50 free.

Bentley Halts Win Streak For Men's And Women's Swimming And Diving
The Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams both saw their two-meet win streak come to a halt on Wednesday, as both teams fell victim to visiting Bentley College. The Falcon men prevailed, 135-96, while the Bentley women took their half of the meet, 148-93. Sophomore Sara Martinek provided two of the three event victories for the Babson women, as she finished first in both the 100 and 200 freestyle races. Martinek also joined sophomore Brittany Bishop, sophomore Meaghan Rohde, and junior Mia Filippini on the Beavers' victorious 200 free relay team. The Babson men posted four event wins, including first place finishes from sophomore Tom Foutsitzis in the 100 fly, sophomore Ryan Pope in the 3-meter diving, and first-year Ryan Akiba in the 100 breast. The Beavers' 200 free relay team of Foutsitzis, first-year Edvard Arnet, first-year Joe Kent, and junior Mauricio Krantzberg also earned a victory.

Swimming and Diving Both Top Norwich For Second Straight Win
The Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each won their second straight meet on Saturday, as the Beavers closed out a busy week with a sweep of vising Norwich University. The Babson women won their side of the meet, 123-83, while the men prevailed by a score of 147-119. The women's team saw 10 different individuals and two relay teams earn victories, as Babson cruised to an easy win. Sophomores Mallory Mosk and Meaghan Rohde each recorded two wins apiece, with Mosk taking the 100 and 200 fly and Rohde winning the 1000 free and 200 back. Five different individuals won two events each for the Babson men. first-year Edvard Arnet won the 500 and 1000 free, first-year Greg Bissett won the 100 and 200 free, first-year Ryan Akiba won the 100 and 200 breaststroke, sophomore Tom Foutsitzis won the 50 free and 100 fly, and senior Aaron Paradis won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

Men's and Women's Swimming Dominate Gordon
The Babson College swimming and diving teams combined to win 31 of 32 events on Wednesday night, as the Beavers recorded an easy sweep of visiting Gordon College. The women won, 122-77, while the men prevailed, 120-88. The women's team took 15 of their 16 races, with sophomore Sara Martinek leading the way with victories in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle competitions. Sophomore Mallory Mosk and first-year Keira Yeager also recorded multiple wins for Babson, as Mosk won the 1000 free and 100 fly while Yeager took first in the 50 breast and 500 free. The men's team also dominated its half of the meet, winning all 16 events. Five different Babson men won two events each, including first-year Edvard Arnet in the 1000 free and 200 IM, senior captain Ted Plaisted in the 200 free and 100 back, first-year Ryan Akiba in the 50 and 100 breast, first-year Greg Bissett in the 50 and 100 free, and senior Aaron Paradis in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving.

Swimming and Diving Falls To Wellesley, Coast Guard
Babson College traveled across town to participate in a tri-meet with Coast Guard and host wellesley College on Tuesday night. The women's team fell to both the Bears, 192-101, and the Blue, 206-93, while the Beaver men lost to Coast Guard, 170-122. Babson posted a total of three event victories, all of which came in the men's half of the meet. Senior Aaron Paradis continued his brilliant season with two more wins, as he swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events., while senior captain Ted Plaisted added a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke. Sophomore Ryan Pope was runner-up to Paradis in both diving events, while sophomore Tom Foutsitzis finished second in both the 50 free and 100 fly. On the women's side, Babson received second-place performances from first-year Keira Yeager in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team.

Swimming and Diving Teams Fall To MIT, Bowdoin At Tri-Meet
The Babson College swimming and diving teams traveled to Maine on Saturday, where the Beavers dropped both ends of a tri-meet with MIT and host Bowdoin College. The men fell to MIT, 226-69, and Bowdoin, 185-99, while the women lost to MIT, 254-44, and Bowdoin, 215-75. Leading the Babson men was the diving duo of senior Aaron Paradis and sophomore Ryan Pope, who finished 1-2 in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. On the women's side, Babson received fifth-place swims by sophomore Nikita Nadkarni in the 200 fly and first-year Keira Yeager in the 200 breaststroke. First-year Nevart Varadian also placed fifth in the 1-meter diving event, and the 400 free relay team of sophomore Brittany Bishop, first-year Hannah Powell, sophomore Meaghan Rohde, and sophomore Sara Martinek finished fifth as well.

Babson Athletes Give Back This Fall
This fall the Babson athletic teams not only performed on the field and in the classroom, but they also gave back to the community in many different ways. Several teams participated in community service events that benefited many organizations including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Jimmy Fund. “I’m extremely proud of everything our athletes have done and continue to do within the community,” said Director of Athletics Josh MacArthur. “These young men and women have tremendous demands on their time and energy, and yet they still make the effort to give back in whatever way they can. They genuinely thrive on touching the lives of others, and in doing so they serve as wonderful ambassadors for Babson College and our athletics program.”

Paradis Grabs Second NEWMAC Male Diver of the Week Honor
For the second time this season, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Male Diver of the Week. Paradis once again swept all four of his diving events this week, and through the team's first four meets has yet to lose a diving event this season.

Swimming and Diving Splits with WPI
The Babson College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed in a closely contested meet on Saturday afternoon against WPI at Morse Pool on the Babson campus. The men won their half of the meet by a score of 149-132 while the women fell to the Engineers by a close score of 151-147. Both teams will next take the pool on Saturday, November 21st when they take on Bowdoin College and MIT at Bowdoin beginning at 1pm.

Brandeis Edges Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving
The Babson College swimming and diving teams both fell victim to visiting Brandeis University on Thursday night, as the men lost an extremely close meet, 119-114, while the women fell by another tight score of 137-107. The Babson men claimed a total of six first-place finishes in defeat, including two each by senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) and first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.). Paradis once again swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while Bissett finished first in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Other winners for the men's team were senior captain Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) in the 200 backstroke and the 400 free relay team consisting of Plaisted, Bissett, sophomore Matt Turkot (Fox River Grove, Ill.), and sophomore Tom Foutsitzis (Shrewsbury, Mass.). Sophomore Brittany Bishop (Little Neck, N.Y.) led the Babson women's team, factoring in on both of the squad's event victories. She finished first in the 50 freestyle while also swimming the opening leg for the triumphant 400 free relay team, which also featured sophomores Meaghan Rohde (St. Paul, Minn.), Mallory Mosk (San Clemente, Calif.), and Sara Martinek (Riverside, Ill.).

Babson Sweeps Weekly NEWMAC Men's Swimming and Diving Awards
After helping their team open the season with back-to-back victories, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) and first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.) both received weekly honors from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Monday. Paradis was named NEWMAC Male Diver of the Week, while Bissett earned NEWMAC Male Swimmer of the Week honors. Paradis won all four of his diving events in helping Babson get off to its 2-0 start. Last Saturday, he finished first in the 1-meter (264.55) and 3-meter (260.10) events as the Beavers opened the season with a 157-138 victory at Clark. One week later, he once again swept both diving competitions, winning the 1-meter (290.45) and 3-meter (281.20) events as part of a 162-80 victory at UMass-Dartmouth. Bissett was outstanding in his first week of collegiate swimming, amassing seven total victories - four individual and three relay - in Babson's two wins.

Swimming and Diving Sweeps UMass-Dartmouth
The Babson College swimming and diving teams recorded an impressive sweep of host UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, posting a total of 20 first-place finishes. The men's team defeated the Corsairs, 162-80, while the Babson women prevailed, 123-107. Eight of the men's 12 event victories came courtesy of four individuals, as senior captain Ted Plaisted, senior Aaron Paradis, first-year Greg Bissett, and first-year Edvard Arnet each recorded two wins apiece. Swimming and Diving Splits Opener At Clark
The Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2009-10 seasons with a split at Clark University on Saturday. The men's team defeated the Cougars, 157-138, while the women fell to the hosts, 185-100. The Babson men had five individuals win two events apiece. Senior Aaron Paradis opened his final season by sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while sophomore Thomas Foutsitzis finished first in both the 50 and 100 fly. A trio of first-years also posted two wins each, as Ryan Akiba won the 50 and 100 breaststroke events, Edvard Arnet finished first in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, and Greg Bissett claimed victories in the 50 and 100 freestyle competitions.

January 12, 2010 Swimming and Diving Falls To Wellesley, Coast Guard Babson College traveled across town to participate in a tri-meet with Coast Guard and host wellesley College on Tuesday night. The women's team fell to both the Bears, 192-101, and the Blue, 206-93, while the Beaver men lost to Coast Guard, 170-122. Babson posted a total of three event victories, all of which came in the men's half of the meet. Senior Aaron Paradis continued his brilliant season with two more wins, as he swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events., while senior captain Ted Plaisted added a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke. Sophomore Ryan Pope was runner-up to Paradis in both diving events, while sophomore Tom Foutsitzis finished second in both the 50 free and 100 fly. On the women's side, Babson received second-place performances from first-year Keira Yeager in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team. November 21, 2009 Swimming and Diving Teams Fall To MIT, Bowdoin At Tri-Meet The Babson College swimming and diving teams traveled to Maine on Saturday, where the Beavers dropped both ends of a tri-meet with MIT and host Bowdoin College. The men fell to MIT, 226-69, and Bowdoin, 185-99, while the women lost to MIT, 254-44, and Bowdoin, 215-75. Leading the Babson men was the diving duo of senior Aaron Paradis and sophomore Ryan Pope, who finished 1-2 in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. On the women's side, Babson received fifth-place swims by sophomore Nikita Nadkarni in the 200 fly and first-year Keira Yeager in the 200 breaststroke. First-year Nevart Varadian also placed fifth in the 1-meter diving event, and the 400 free relay team of sophomore Brittany Bishop, first-year Hannah Powell, sophomore Meaghan Rohde, and sophomore Sara Martinek finished fifth as well. November 16, 2009 Babson Athletes Give Back This Fall This fall the Babson athletic teams not only performed on the field and in the classroom, but they also gave back to the community in many different ways. Several teams participated in community service events that benefited many organizations including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Jimmy Fund. “I’m extremely proud of everything our athletes have done and continue to do within the community,” said Director of Athletics Josh MacArthur. “These young men and women have tremendous demands on their time and energy, and yet they still make the effort to give back in whatever way they can. Paradis once again swept all four of his diving events this week, and through the team's first four meets has yet to lose a diving event this season. November 14, 2009 Swimming and Diving Splits with WPI The Babson College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed in a closely contested meet on Saturday afternoon against WPI at Morse Pool on the Babson campus. The men won their half of the meet by a score of 149-132 while the women fell to the Engineers by a close score of 151-147. Both teams will next take the pool on Saturday, November 21st when they take on Bowdoin College and MIT at Bowdoin beginning at 1pm. November 12, 2009 Brandeis Edges Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving The Babson College swimming and diving teams both fell victim to visiting Brandeis University on Thursday night, as the men lost an extremely close meet, 119-114, while the women fell by another tight score of 137-107. The Babson men claimed a total of six first-place finishes in defeat, including two each by senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) and first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.). Paradis once again swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while Bissett finished first in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Other winners for the men's team were senior captain Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) in the 200 backstroke and the 400 free relay team consisting of Plaisted, Bissett, sophomore Matt Turkot (Fox River Grove, Ill.), and sophomore Tom Foutsitzis (Shrewsbury, Mass.). November 2, 2009 Babson Sweeps Weekly NEWMAC Men's Swimming and Diving Awards After helping their team open the season with back-to-back victories, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) and first-year Greg Bissett (Cerritos, Calif.) both received weekly honors from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Monday. Paradis was named NEWMAC Male Diver of the Week, while Bissett earned NEWMAC Male Swimmer of the Week honors. Paradis won all four of his diving events in helping Babson get off to its 2-0 start. Last Saturday, he finished first in the 1-meter (264.55) and 3-meter (260.10) events as the Beavers opened the season with a 157-138 victory at Clark. One week later, he once again swept both diving competitions, winning the 1-meter (290.45) and 3-meter (281.20) events as part of a 162-80 victory at UMass-Dartmouth. October 31, 2009 Swimming and Diving Sweeps UMass-Dartmouth The Babson College swimming and diving teams recorded an impressive sweep of host UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, posting a total of 20 first-place finishes. The men's team defeated the Corsairs, 162-80, while the Babson women prevailed, 123-107. Eight of the men's 12 event victories came courtesy of four individuals, as senior captain Ted Plaisted, senior Aaron Paradis, first-year Greg Bissett, and first-year Edvard Arnet each recorded two wins apiece. Plaisted won the 200 IM and 100 back, Paradis swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, Bissett won the 50 and 100 freestyle races, and Arnet triumphed in the 200 and 500 free events. The men's team defeated the Cougars, 157-138, while the women fell to the hosts, 185-100. The Babson men had five individuals win two events apiece. Senior Aaron Paradis opened his final season by sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while sophomore Thomas Foutsitzis finished first in both the 50 and 100 fly.
