BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each won their second straight meet on Saturday, as the Beavers closed out a busy week with a sweep of vising Norwich University. The Babson women won their side of the meet, 123-83, while the men prevailed by a score of 147-119.
The women's team saw 10 different individuals and two relay teams earn victories, as Babson cruised to an easy win. Sophomores Mallory Mosk and Meaghan Rohde each recorded two wins apiece, with Mosk taking the 100 and 200 fly and Rohde winning the 1000 free and 200 back. Also adding individual wins were sophomore Sara Martinek in the 200 free, junior Christina Stone in the 100 back, junior Mia Filippini in the 50 free, first-year Nevart Varadian in the 1-meter dive, sophomore Brittany Bishop in the 100 free, sophomore Julia Frenette in the 500 free, sophomore Jeanie Kim in the 3-meter dive, and first-year Keira Yeager in the 200 IM. Babson also emerged victorious in both the 200 medley and 400 free relay events.
Five different individuals won two events each for the Babson men. first-year Edvard Arnet won the 500 and 1000 free, first-year Greg Bissett won the 100 and 200 free, first-year Ryan Akiba won the 100 and 200 breaststroke, sophomore Tom Foutsitzis won the 50 free and 100 fly, and senior Aaron Paradis won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. First-year Greg DeWitt added a first-place finish in the 200 back for the Beavers, who also won the 200 medley and 400 free relays.
Both Babson teams return to action on Wednesday, as they host a dual meet with Bentley at 6 p.m. It will be the final home event of the season for the women, while the men will host Springfield later this month.
