Paradis Caps Off Brilliant Career By Placing 17th In 1-Meter Dive At Nationals

1-METER DIVING RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- In the final performance of his outstanding career, Babson College senior Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) finished 17th overall in the 1-meter dive at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota on Friday.

Two days after becoming Babson's first All-American in swimming and diving since Ramon Lopez in 2000, Paradis posted a preliminary round score of 405.25 in the 1-meter dive. The score was just 2.05 points shy of qualifying for the consolation final and his second straight Honorable Mentional All-America honor, but it was good enough to place him 17th overall in the event.

The NEWMAC Diver of the Year after winning the league championship in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events as a freshman in 2007, Paradis first qualified for the NCAA Championships as a sophomore in 2008. He placed 18th in the 1-meter event and 20th in the 3-meter competition. Then this past Wednesday, he finished 11th in the 3-meter dive to secure Honorable Mention All-America status for the first time in his career.

With Paradis as its lone representative at Nationals, Babson finished 47th out of 57 scoring teams at the Championships.
