NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- The Babson College swimming and diving teams each recorded their second straight victory on Saturday, sweeping a dual meet from host Norwich University. The men edged the Cadets, 146-138, while the women won handily, 142-37.
The men's side of the meet saw the Beavers win 12 of 16 events, including two wins apiece from juniors Isaac Breen-Franklin (1000 free, 100 free) and Steven Jacobi (50 free, 100 breast). Also securing victories for Babson were junior Rene Del Castillo in the 200 free, first-year Austen Noh in the 50 breast, first-year Chris Roan in the 100 fly, senior Greg Bissett in the 100 back, first-year Paco Chan in the 50 fly, and first-year An Truong in the 200 IM. The Beavers' 200 medley and 400 free relay teams also recorded first-place finishes, with Bissett leading off in the former and anchoring the latter.
The Babson women completely dominated their half of the competition, posting first-place performances in all 15 events. Sophomore star Erica Riccardi once again led the Beavers with three victories on the day, as she won the 50 back, 100 back, and 50 fly. Joining her with multiple first-place performances were junior Mika Cucullo, who won both diving events, sophomore Kendall Ford, who prevailed in the 100 fly and 200 IM, and sophomore Ascia Johnson, who claimed victory in the 200 free and 500 free while also anchoring Babson's winning 200 medley and 400 free relay teams.
Rounding out the Beavers' list of winners were junior Lily Yie in the 50 breast, sophomore Kelly McCarthy in the 50 free, first-year Becca Greenberg in the 100 free, and senior captain Hannah Powell in the 100 breast.
Both Babson teams will return to action this Wednesday when they head to nearby Waltham for a 6 p.m. dual meet with Bentley.
