NORTON, Mass. -- Junior Isaac Breen-Franklin and first-year An Truong combined for five of their team's eight event victories as the Babson College men's swimming and diving team defeated host Wheaton, 116-83, on Friday night. The Babson women also squared off against the Lyons, falling to the hosts, 149-92.
Winning their fourth straight meet to improve to 7-3 on the year, the men opened their half of the competition by winning the 200 medley relay - the first of eight Beaver victories on the day. Truong finished first in the 1000 free, 200 IM, and 500 free, while Breen-Franklin added wins in the 200 free and 100 free. First-year Chris Roan (100 fly) and junior Steven Jacobi (100 breast) rounded out the men's list of victors.
Junior diver Mika Cucullo highlighted the women's half of the meet with two outstanding performances, as she won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, surpassing 200 total points in each. Sophomore Erica Riccardi also recorded a pair of first-place efforts, winning the 50 free and 100 back, while four other swimmers joined the 200 medley and 200 free relay teams with runner-up performances.
After competing in five meets in the last 10 days, Babson will now take five days off before celebrating Senior Day with a dual meet against Bridgewater State on Thursday, January 24, at 6 p.m.
