WESTWOOD, Mass.—The Babson College men's swimming & diving program had five competitors recognized for their work in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday morning.

Seniors Adam Kershner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Kenneth Mun (Hacienda Heights, Calif.) were both honored for the third year in a row, while the sophomore quartet of Lachlan Dibbayawan (Bangkok, Thailand), Kevin Luu (Malden, Mass.), Connor O'Brien (Tempe, Ariz.) and Taras Polakoff (Orange County, Calif.) were all named to the team for the first time.

Kershner recorded his top time of the season in the 100 free (52.03) at the Gompei Invitational back in December and posted a season-best time of 1:54.94 in the 200 free at Wheaton in mid-January, while Mun, who completed his degree requirements in December, won the 50 breaststoke B final at the Gompei Invitational. Dibbayawan owns top-five times in four different events for the Beavers, highlighted by his 21.86 in the 50 free and his top result of 1:00.50 in the 100 breaststroke.

Polakoff owns Babson's fastest time of the season (1:57.61) in the 200 backstroke, and also ranks second in the 100 backstroke with a season-best time of 53.59. Luu's time of 24.88 is second on the squad in the 50 back, and he is third behind Polakoff in the 100 back having achieved a time of 55.18 at the Gompei Invitational back in December.

O'Brien's time of 10:32.10 ranks fourth on the team in the 1000 free. He also is fifth in the 500 free owning a season-best time of 5:06.49.

Academic all-conference honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at his institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
