Men's Tennis Downs Emerson, 7-2

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Babson College men’s tennis team defeated visiting Emerson College, 7-2,  winning all three doubles matches. With the win, Babson improves to 3-6 on the season and Emerson drops to 2-2.

In doubles play, junior Justin Albert (Newton, Mass.) and senior Brian Lafayette (Burlington, Vt.) defeated Allesandro Bellino and Mark Jackman by a score of 8-2 at the number one spot. Senior Ken Lin (Cavendish Hts, Hong Kong) and junior Austin Conti (Murray Hill, N.J.) also won by a score of 8-2 defeating Ken Nikravesh and Dan Lapidus at number two doubles. The number three doubles team of first-year Zach Ringer (Minnetonka, Minn.) and sophomore Taylor Dutton (Portland, Ore.) beat Morgan Crossley and Matthew Field by a score of 8-2.

Conti won at the number two singles spot by a score of 7-5, 6-2 defeating Bellino. Sophomore Nissim Cohen-Sabban (Chula Vista, Calif.) beat Lapidus at number four singles, 4-6, 6-2 (10-7) and Ringer won at number five singles by a score of 6-3, 6-2 over Crossley. Sophomore Danny Schneider (Littleton, Mass.) rounded out the group winning at number six singles defeating Mitch Lance by a score of 6-1, 6-2.

Babson will take on Amherst this Saturday at 10am at Farwell Courts on the Babson College Campus.
