CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The Babson College men's tennis team saw its four-match win streak come to a halt on Tuesday, as the Beavers fell to powerful regional foe Bowdoin College, 9-0, in a spring break match played at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Despite the lopsided final, several of Tuesday's matches were closely contested. Ramone Doyley and Connor DeFiore put up a strong fight in an 8-5 loss at number one doubles, while Victor Vu and Davin Garcia did the same in the 8-6 set-back at number three.
In singles play, Roberto Perez and Doyley each went three sets before finally succumbing to their opponents. Perez fell at number one, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0, while Doyley lost in a third-set superbreaker, 5-7, 7-1, 1-0 (10-8).
