Henry Helps Guide Men's Tennis Past Coast Guard, 6-3

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Senior captain Mitchell Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) accounted for two dominating victories to help lead the Babson College men's tennis team to a 6-3 victory over host Coast Guard in NEWMAC action on Saturday.

Now 7-6 overall and 2-1 in league play, the Beavers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after doubles play, with Henry and first-year Saif Rahim (Hong Kong) teaming up for an 8-1 win at number three and first-years Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Davin Garcia (Essex Junction, Vt.) joined forces on an 8-6 victory at two.

Henry continued his stellar play in singles action, as he coasted past his opponent at number three, 6-1, 6-1. Vu and Garcia joined him in posting two wins on the day, as Vu pulled out a three-set 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at one and Garcia added a 6-4, 7-5 victory at five. Sophomore Roy Murdock (Santa Monica, Calif.) capped off the 6-3 triumph with a straight-set win at six, as he coasted, 6-2, 6-2.

The Beavers will next head to nearby Norton for a NEWMAC match against Wheaton College next Saturday at 1 p.m.
