BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Babson College men's tennis team picked up its fourth straight win in impressive fashion on Wednesday, as the Beavers cruised past visiting Suffolk University, 9-0, in non-conference play at the Farwell Courts.
Babson (9-6) faced little resistance in the victory, outscoring the Rams (3-6) by a count of 24-1 in doubles play and 72-16 in singles action. The Beavers' doubles sweep was highlighted by 8-0 wins from sophomores Connor DeFiore and Ramone Doyley at number one and first-years Victor Vu and Roberto Perez at two. The tandem of senior captains Rushab Tanna and Mitchell Henry completed the doubles rout with an 8-1 win at three.
In singles play, Perez capped off a perfect afternoon by winning his match at number one, 6-0, 6-0, while Doyley, Henry, DeFiore, first-year Davin Garcia, and first-year Saif Rahim joined him with straight-set victories.
Babson will put its four-match win streak on the line with a big conference match against Clark on Saturday. The winner of that contest will earn the second seed in the upcoming league tournament.
