NEW LONDON, Conn.—The Babson College men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule with a successful showing at the Connecticut College/Coast Guard Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers went 7-1 in singles play and captured doubles titles in three of four flights in the five-team event.
Seniors Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Saif Rahim (Hong Kong) won the "A" flight doubles bracket with an 8-6 first-round triumph over the top team from Connecticut College, and followed it up with an 8-5 victory over the top pairing from Colby-Sawyer. Sophomore Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and first-year Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) rolled to 8-1 and 8-3 wins in the "C" flight, while sophomores Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) and Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) won 8-3 and 9-8 to claim the "D" flight.
Vu was a straight-set winner (6-2, 6-3) in his "A" flight singles match, Roque picked up a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the "C" bracket and Levy rallied for a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 triumph in the "D" flight. Rahim posted a 6-3, 6-2 win in the "F" flight, while junior Dom Wysolmerski (Rutland, Vt.), first-year Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) and Chin all won their respective matches in straight sets.
Babson, which won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title last season, opens its spring season against Bates on March 4.
