Men's Tennis Suffers 7-0 Loss To Bucknell

KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The Babson College men's tennis team dropped a pair of close matches in doubles and suffered straight-set defeats in all six singles matches in a 7-0 loss to Division I Bucknell in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday night at the Star Island Resort.

With the loss, Babson is now 1-3 on the year, while Bucknell evens its record at 6-6.

Senior Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Saif Rahim (Hong Kong) dropped a 7-5 decision at number one doubles, and the Bison locked up the first point of the match with another 7-5 victory over sophomore Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and first-year Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) at number two.

Senior Isaac Thylen (Surfside, Fla.) suffered his first dual-match loss since the end of the 2014 campaign, falling 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles. Vu lost 6-0, 6-3 at number two and Rosenbluth dropped a 7-5, 6-2 result at number three.

Roque fell 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles, Rahim was defeated 6-0, 6-4 at number five and sophomore Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) was edged 6-2, 6-0 at number six.

The Beavers will return to the courts on short rest when they take on Illinois Wesleyan on Monday at 8 a.m. at Sanlando Park.
