Men's Tennis Blanks Clark, 9-0, in NEWMAC Opener

WORCESTER, Mass.—Babson College dropped just three games in doubles and won all six singles matches in straight sets en route to a 9-0 victory over Clark University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon at the Corash Tennis Courts.

With the win, Babson snapped a two-match losing streak and is now 4-6 overall and 1-0 in league play. Clark has now dropped two straight matches to fall to 5-10 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC.

Seniors Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Saif Rahim (Hong Kong) opened with an 8-1 triumph at number one doubles. Classmate Isaac Thylen (Surfside, Fla.) and first-year Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) breezed to an 8-0 win at number two, while junior Dom Wysolmerski (Rutland, Vt.) and sophomore Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) picked up an 8-2 victory at number three.

The Beavers continue to roll in singles play, led by a 6-0, 6-1 win at number one by senior Roberto Perez (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain). Thylen eased to a 6-1, 6-1 result at number two, while Vu earned his second point of the day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at number three.

Roque was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at fourth singles and sophomore Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at number five. Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) earned Babson's final point with a 6-0, 6-0 decision at number six.

The Beavers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Connecticut College at 3:30 p.m., while Clark hosts Gordon on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
