Men's Tennis Earns Hard-Fought 7-2 Win Over Colby

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Senior Roberto Perez (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain), classmate Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) and first-year Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) all were victorious in both singles and doubles to help Babson College defeat visiting Colby College, 7-2, in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday afternoon at Farwell Courts.

Babson, which is 16th in the most recent ITA regional rankings, has now won four of its last five matches to even its record at 7-7. Colby, which had won four straight matches entering the day, falls to 4-11 on the year.

Vu and first-year Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) claimed the first point of the day with an 8-2 victory at number two doubles. Perez and Rosenbluth combined on an 8-5 win at number one, while junior Dom Wysolmerski (Rutland, Vt.) and sophomore Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) completed the sweep with an 8-6 triumph at number three.

The Green and White continued its strong play by winning four of six singles matches against the Mules, led by Perez at number one. After splitting the first two sets against junior Carl Reid (Mattapan, Mass.), the region's seventh-ranked play, Perez fought off a pair of match points in the third-set superbreaker before posting a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) victory.

Vu was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at number three, while Rosenbluth picked up a 6-2, 6-4 result at number four. Following three-set losses by senior Isaac Thylen (Surfside, Fla.) Roque at second and fifth singles, respectively, Beavers' first-year Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) closed the match with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at number six.

Babson will host a trio of league opponents over the next week, beginning with Wednesday's match against Coast Guard at 3:30 p.m. Colby returns to the courts next Saturday when it takes on Wesleyan at 12 p.m.
