Men's Tennis Beaten by No. 32 Brandeis, 8-1

WALTHAM, Mass.—Sophomore Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.J.) and first-year Alberto De Mendiola (San Jose, Costa Rica) picked up a win at number one doubles as visiting Babson College suffered an 8-1 loss at 32nd-ranked Brandeis University in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday afternoon.

Babson, which has dropped four of its last five matches, is now 6-8 overall, while Brandeis improves to 9-6 with its fifth straight win.

Rosenbluth and De Mendiola won their seventh consecutive match at number one doubles with an 8-5 triumph over the Judges' duo of seniors Michael Arugello (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Ryan Bunis (Cincinnati, Ohio). The Beavers tandem of junior Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and sophomore Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) dropped an 8-4 decision at number two, while junior Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) and first-year Dan Levitan (Winter Park, Fla.) lost 8-4 at number three.

De Mendiola suffered a 7-5, 6-4 loss number one singles, while Roque won the first set at number five before falling 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Rosenbluth forced a second-set tiebreaker at number two, but was defeated by senior Brian Granoff (Miami, Fla.), 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Babson returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Emerson at 3 p.m., while Brandeis travels to MIT next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
