Men's Tennis Rallies Past Wheaton in NEWMAC Finale, 6-3

NORTON, Mass.—The Babson College men's tennis team rallied from a 2-1 deficit after doubles by winning five of six singles matches, all in straight sets, to defeat Wheaton College, 6-3, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season finale for both teams on Wednesday evening.

With its fourth straight win, Babson is now 10-0 overall and 5-1 in conference play, while Wheaton falls to 4-13 overall and 2-4 in the NEWMAC.

Despite three close matches, the Green and White earned its lone doubles point with a 9-8 (8-6) victory from sophomore Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and first-year Jonathan Ben-Rey (Las Vegas, Nev.) at number two.

Babson quickly took control of the match in singles as Rosenbluth posted a 7-5, 6-2 victory at number, while junior Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at number three. Classmate Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) recorded a 6-4, 6-1 result at number four, sophomore Ho Wang Alastair Ng (Hong Kong) collected a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) win at number five and junior Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) closed out the match with a 9-7 triumph at number six.

The Beavers, who are seeded second in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament, will take on third-seeded Coast Guard in a semifinal match at MIT on May 6 at 11:30 a.m.

•    Babson is 17-10 all-time against Wheaton and has won eight of the last nine matches between the sqauds.
•    The Beavers have now won 10 or more matches in each of the last five seasons.
•    Babson's four-match winning streak is tied for its longest of the season.
