BEVERLY, Mass.—The Babson College men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule at the North Shore Invitational hosted by Endicott College and Gordon College on Saturday. The Beavers had five teams competing in the flighted tournament that featured two singles and one doubles match each round.
Junior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and first-year Cameron Gruss (Kittery, Maine) won the B draw with victories over pairings from Bates, Gordon and Colby. Rosenbluth went 3-0 in singles and the duo won doubles matches over the Bobcats and Fighting Scots before sweeping the Mules with a pair of victories in singles.
Seniors Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) swept Bates, 3-0, in their first round match before falling to Southern New Hampshire in the semifinals of the C bracket. Sophomores Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) and Dan Levitan (Winter Park, Fla.), and senior Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) and sophomore Scott Riester (Lynnfield, Mass.) also won their respective first round matches before falling in the semifinals of the D draw.
First-years Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) were on the only Beavers' duo not to advance past the first round after suffering a 2-1 loss to Southern New Hampshire in the A flight. Kolesnik was an 8-6 winner in singles, but the Penmen clinched the victory with an 8-7 (9-7) triumph in doubles.
Babson begins its spring season at Vassar on February 24.
