WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College swept the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly awards on Tuesday as first-year Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) was named singles player of the week, while junior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and first-year Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) were selected as the doubles team of the week.
Libnic continued his strong play at number one singles with a pair of straight-set victories last week. He breezed past Austin DeLasse of UMass Boston 6-0, 6-2 on Thursday and then downed Jose Dalla-Valle of Clark, 6-3, 6-3, on Saturday as the Beavers extended their winning streak to three with a pair of 9-0 triumphs.
The Beavers number one doubles pairing of Rosenbluth and Kolesnik ran their winning streak to three with a pair of easy wins. The duo topped Miguel Beltran and Onkgopotse Mokoka of the Beacons, 8-3, on Thursday, and then defeated the Cougars' duo Jose Dalla-Valle and Andrey Samodaev of Clark 8-2 on Saturday.
Babson (8-3, 2-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Springfield at 4 p.m.
