Men's Tennis Storms Past Springfield, 9-0

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College dropped just one game in doubles and won all six singles matches in straight sets en route to a 9-0 victory over visiting Springfield College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis action.

With its fourth straight win, Babson improves to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in league play, while Springfield slips to 6-7 overall and 1-3 in the NEWMAC.

Junior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and first-year Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted an 8-1 win at number one, while the duos of senior Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and first-year Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) and sophomores Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) and Jonathan Ben-Rey (Las Vegas, Nev.) both recorded 8-0 victories at number two and three, respectively.

Both Rosenbluth at number two and first-year Cameron Gruss (Kittery, Maine) at number four recorded 6-0, 6-0 victories, while Kolesnik posted a 6-0, 6-1 a decision at third singles. Libnic breezed to a 6-2, 6-3 win at number one and sophomore Scott Riester (Lynnfield, Mass.) produced a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at number five.

Senior Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) trailed 5-2 in the opening set at number five singles before rallying for a 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) win over Pride senior Chris Unger (Westfield, Mass.).

Both teams are back in action on Saturday as Babson takes on Emerson at St. John's Prep in Danvers, Mass., at 10:30 a.m., while Springfield hosts 25th-ranked MIT at 2 p.m.

• The Beavers are 16-6 all-time against Springfield and have won 10 of their last 11 matches against the Pride.
• Babson is off to its first 3-0 start in NEWMAC play since 2015, when it captured the league's regular season title.
