Babson College junior Dominic Esposito will compete at the Holy Cross decathlon for the second time in three years starting on Wednesday. 2013 HOLY CROSS DECATHLON RECAP:
Esposito made history at the event two years ago, becoming the first in program history to take part in the decathlon. He set seven personal records in the 10 events and finished the competition in style with a victory in the 1500 meters to finish 10th overall and fifth among Division III participants.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
The school record holder in the pole vault, Esposito will be competing in the seventh decathlon of his career this week. He finished with 5,547 points at Holy Cross two years ago and set a new program record with 5,643 points at the NCAA New England Championships last spring. He broke his own pole vault record in the Beavers' season-opening meet at Wesleyan on March 21, and then matched it a week later at Coast Guard. Esposito also set a new personal best with a toss of 108-feet, 5-inches last Saturday at New Hampshire.
