BOSTON—The Babson College men's track & field team had three athletes recognized for their work in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday. Sophomore Trevor Lomba (Dartmouth, Mass.) was honored for the second year in a row, while sophomores Jonathan Martin (Valrico, Fla.) and Jonathan Miller (Westford, Mass.) were both named to the team for the first time.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2015 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Lomba has competed in each of the Beavers' last four meets and owns a top-25 finish in both the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. Martin has taken part in three meets and recorded a season-best time of 4:42.87 in the 1500-meter run at MIT last Saturday, while Miller is looking to return from an injury to run in the 5000 meters on Saturday at the conference championships.
Babson will travel to Coast Guard Academy for the NEWMAC Championships starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
