Men's Track & Field Sets New Mark in 4x400-Meter Relay at ECAC Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass.—The Babson College men's track & field team opened the 2016 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships with a record-setting performance in the 4x400-meter relay on Wednesday evening at Westfield State University.

The quartet of junior JD Greenfield (Reading, Mass.), sophomore John Decker (Parkland, Mass.) and first-years Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) and Gabe Ficht (Newburyport, Mass.) broke the program's previous mark by 0.78 seconds to come in 19th overall in a time of 3:21.28.

In addition to their performance, junior Sam LaPointe (Wells, Maine) capped a tremendous campaign with a time of 11.11 to finish 26th in the 100-meter dash.

The Beavers will return to the track on Thursday afternoon as Decker is set to take part in the 800-meter run, while Dynan will compete in the 1500 meters.
