The Babson College men's and women's track & field teams will compete at the Coast Guard Academy Invitational for the 11th year in a row on Saturday.

The Beavers combined for 16 top-10 results as the men came in eighth and the women 11th at last year's Coast Guard Invitational. Cezary Bialon '16 won the men's triple jump with a leap of 41-feet, 1.75-inches, while junior John Decker posted a time of 1:55.64 to finish first in the 800-meter run. In the women's half of the meet, Kim Dvorak '16 came in third in the long jump and senior Melissa Perlman recorded an eighth-place showing in the shot put.

The Beavers were terrific in their opening meet, posting a pair of individual victories and one relay win last Saturday at Bridgewater State. Decker came in first in the 1500-meter run, sophomore Matthew Dynan won the 5000-meter run, and the quartet of senior JD Greenfield, sophomore Gabe Ficht and first-years Nicholas Virkler and Samir Arora added a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. Greenfield recorded a third-place showing in the 800 meters and first-year Sean Rezendes finished fifth in his first collegiate meet in the high jump.

The Green and White put together a number of superb performances in its season debut, led by sophomore Katherine Tamulionis setting a new school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.30. Senior Paris Ekman came in sixth by clearing 10-feet, 6-inches in the pole vault, while first-year Angelina Raffone placed seventh in the 200 meters. Classmate Stephanie Rodriguez and sophomore Chaela Hood came in 12th and 13th, respectively, in the 400 meters and the 10000-meter run at Bridgewater State.

•    Decker, Dynan, Ekman and Hood all qualified for the NCAA New England Championships with their results last Saturday.
