HANOVER, N.H.—The Babson College men's and women's track & field teams had seven athletes compete at the NEICAAA Championships at Dartmouth College, highlighted by a record-setting performance in the men's 4x800-meter relay.
The quartet of Senior John Decker (Parkland, Fla.), junior Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) and Sophomores Nicholas Virkler (Lincoln, Mass.) and Samir Arora (Fremont, Calif.) ran a school-record 7:48.85 in the 4x800-meter relay, improving on their time of 7:52.78 that they ran last weekend.
Dynan placed 13th in the 1500-meter run, tying his school-record 3:54.73, while Decker ran 1:54.49 in the 800-meter run. Also competing in an individual event was junior Sayin Shute (Lexington, Mass.), who ran 11.39 in the 100-meter dash.
On the women's side, junior Chaela Hood (Plymouth, Mass.) even-split her way to a 10,000-meter run personal-best, 39:25, while classmate Angelina Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) placed 10th in the 100-meter dash, running 12.31.
The Beavers returns to action next Thursday when they compete at the MIT Last Chance meet.
