Cross Country at the Codfish Bowl
Saturday, September 24—11 a.m. (W)/11:45 a.m. (M)
Franklin Park—Boston, Mass.

THE SETUP
The Babson College men's and women's cross country teams return to the Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park for the first time since 2009 on Saturday. The women's 5k race will get the day started at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the men's 8k event at 11:45 a.m.

LAST TIME AT THE CODFISH BOWL
Led by a 27th-place finish from Charlotte Margel '13, the Babson women's squad came in 13th at the 2009 Codfish Bowl. Her time of 19:47 is still the seventh fastest 5k time in program history at the Franklin Park course. Andrew Oram '12 paced the Beaver men's squad, who had just four healthy runners, with a time of 28:05 to finish in 90th position.

SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
The Green and White returns to action after finishing eighth at the Smith Invitational back on September 10. First-year Chaela Hood came in 18th overall with a time of 21:43 in the 5k event, while sophomore Melanie Plattner finished 26th with a time of 22:09. Junior Heather Murphy was Babson's third highest finisher as she posted a time of 23:02. Six of the Beavers' nine harriers competed in the NEWMAC Championship meet at Franklin Park last fall.

SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
The Beavers enter Saturday's race in good form after coming in second at the Smith Invitational on September 10. Sophomore Matthew Dynan won his second race of the season with a time of 27:41, while juniors Jonathan Miller and Scott Atwood finished sixth and eighth, respectively, for the Beavers, who were just four points behind conference rival Coast Guard. First-year Samir Arora continued his strong start to the year with a time of 29:09 to finish 13th, just one second ahead of junior John Decker, who came in 16th.

RUNNING TO MORE RECOGNITION
Dynan was selected as the NEWMAC Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week on September 12 following his second victory in as many races. He now owns three individual wins in seven career meets.

PERSONAL BESTS AT FRANKLIN PARK
Hood recorded a personal-best time of 19:40 at Franklin Park in the 5k women's conference championship meet last November, while junior Jonathan Martin finished with the best time of his career (31:08) in the men's 8k race.
