BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College junior Payton Ouimette (Medfield, Mass.) capped a monster three-game stretch by being named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week late Monday night.
Ouimette was joined on the weekly honor roll by seniors Abby Miller of Bethel (Minn.), Ama Biney of WPI and Montclair State's Katie Sire, as well as sophomore Catherine Sweeney of Worcester State.
Ouimette racked up three double-doubles while shooting 58.8 percent and averaging 16.0 points and 15.0 rebounds in three games for the Beavers. She put up 18 points and 17 boards and played all 45 minutes in an 83-73 overtime loss at Smith on Tuesday, and followed it up with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with 16 rebounds in a six-point win over Wellesley two days later. On Saturday, Ouimette capped the week with 16 points and 12 boards in just 24 minutes as Babson defeated Clark, 82-56.
Ouimette, who is tied for sixth in Division III with 11 double-doubles, ranks first in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in rebounding (12.5), third in scoring (14.3 points) and is shooting 52 percent, which is good for fourth in the league.
Babson (11-5, 7-1 NEWMAC) returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Emerson at 7:30 p.m.
