The Babson College Department of Athletics and Recreation will showcase Wednesday night's women's basketball game on Facebook Live at 6 p.m. when the Beavers host New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival WPI at Staake Gymnasium.

The game will be simulcast on Facebook Live and Stretch Internet, Babson's live video streaming provider. In his sixth year with the Beavers, John Cabral will have the call.

In addition to the traditional broadcast, the Facebook Live platform will provide Babson fans and followers an interactive experience. Engagement opportunities include viewers comments showing beside the live action and post likes while reacting to the game action in front of them on their mobile devices and/or desktops.

During the broadcast, there will be fun facts and series notes between the squads who have met in each of the last two NEWMAC Tournament championship games. This season, Babson is tied for first in the conference standings at 11-2, while WPI sits in a tie for third at 9-3.

Additionally, trivia questions during the halftime intermission will give viewers the opportunity to win Babson Athletics gear and prizes.

With Babson's alumni scattered throughout the world, streaming to Facebook Live creates another way for Athletics to engage with alumni, students, faculty and staff, prospects, family and friends in addition to connecting with new fans.
