BABSON PARK, Mass.—Coming off an 18-win season that included a share of the program's third consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title, Babson College head women's basketball coach Judy Blinstrub officially announced her team's 2018-19 schedule on Friday morning.
The Beavers begin the year at the University of Rochester's Chuck Resler Tournament where they will face Baldwin Wallace on November 17 and the host Yellow Jackets, who made a run to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 last season, on November 18. Following a 10-day break, the Green and White begins conference play at defending tournament champions MIT on November 28.
Babson welcomes Smith to Staake Gymnasium for its home opener on December 1 and will host Brandeis on December 3 and Coast Guard on December 8 before breaking for final exams. The Beavers travel to Miami to face Cal Lutheran and Plattsburgh State in the Miami Exclusive Invitational on December 18-19, which is followed by the Babson Alumni Invitational on December 30-31. The Green and White takes on Salve Regina in the opening round and will face either St. Lawrence or UMass Dartmouth on day two of the event.
The Beavers jump back into league play at Clark on January 5, which is followed by home tilts against Emerson (January 8) and Wheaton (January 10). Babson visits Coast Guard on January 12 and Springfield on January 19 prior to a three-game home stand that includes tests against MIT on January 23 and Williams on January 28.
The Green and White closes out the month of January at Emerson on the 30th and will begin February with home games against WPI (February 2), perennial national power Tufts (February 6) and Springfield (February 9). The Beavers travel to Wellesley on February 13 and close out the regular season at WPI on February 16.
The seven-team NEWMAC Tournament will begin with quarterfinal action on February 19. The semifinals will be played at higher seeds on February 21 and the tournament final is set for February 23.
