WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Emily Bonifacic (Allendale, N.J.) was tabbed as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Bonifacic posted a pair of double-doubles and averaged 13.5 points, 18.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.5 blocks as the Beavers defeated Clark and Springfield. She finished with 14 points, a career-high 20 boards and season highs of five assists and five steals in Wednesday's 77-38 victory over Clark. Bonifacic followed it up with 11 of her 13 points in the second half to go along with 17 rebounds and two blocks in Saturday's 64-52 road win over the Pride.
Babson's leading scorer and rebounder, Bonifacic is averaging 16.0 points and 10.3 boards and has posted four double-doubles in 12 starts on the year.
The Beavers (7-5) return to action on Tuesday when they host Trinity at 6 p.m.
