Paladino Chosen To Play In NFHCA Senior All-Star Game

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- After becoming just the second player in Babson College field hockey history to earn NEWMAC Player of the Year honors, senior captain Jessica Paladino (Turner, Maine) will now represent the Beavers in the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game. Paladino will join 37 other senior all-starts from across the nation in the event, which will take place at Mount Holyoke College on Sunday, November 22, at 9;30 a.m. as part of National Championship Weekend.
A three-time All-Conference honoree, including her second straight First Team nod this Tuesday, Paladino garnered Player of the Year and Senior All-Star honors after yet another spectacular season. The talented forward ranked second on the team and in the league with 19 goals and 48 points, and she led the Beavers and ranked third in the NEWMAC with 10 assists. With 51 goals and 23 assists for 125 points in her outstanding career, she now ranks second on Babson's all-time goals and points lists and fifth in assists. She was Babson's second-ever Player of the Year selection, joining former two-time All-American and 2005 Division III scoring champion Elise Conley '06.
"Jess has enjoyed an incredible career here at Babson," said head coach Julie Ryan. "She has shown consistent improvement throughout her four years, and she has emerged as one of the top scoring threats in New England and the country. Jess has also done a great job as one of our two captains this fall, and she is very deserving of the chance to play with some of the nation's other top seniors."
