Barry Named Longstreth/NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week

Roche Earns Honorable Mention Recognition

GILBERT, Ariz.—The honors continued to roll in for the second-ranked Babson College field hockey team as sophomore goalkeeper Deirdre Barry (Longmeadow, Mass.) was selected as the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

In addition to Barry's recognition, fellow sophomore Tori Roche (Andover, Mass.) received an honorable mention after scoring game-winning goals in victories over then-second-ranked Tufts and MIT.

Barry put together a pair of strong performances last week, posting a 0.96 goals against average and a .833 save percentage to help the Beavers stay unbeaten. She made six of her career-high nine stops after halftime in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Jumbos, and followed it up with one save to post her 15th career shutout in a 2-0 triumph over the Engineers on Saturday.

Babson, which ascended four spots in the top-20 poll to its highest national ranking in program history, improved to 7-0 with a 5-0 rout of Union on Tuesday night. The Green and White travels to Springfield on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. before returning home to face seventh-ranked Middlebury on Sunday at 1 p.m.
