GILBERT, Ariz.—Babson College senior captains Lauren Drakeley (Woodbury, Conn.) and Ashley Tango (Reading, Mass.) were two of 60 players selected to compete in the 2018 Victory Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Assocation (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Division III Senior Game will be played in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship on Saturday, November 17, at 5 p.m. in Manheim, Pa.
A two-time NFHCA All-America selection and two-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Year, Drakeley has started all 82 games over the last four seasons for the Beavers. She is tied for seventh in program history with 28 assists and has scored 14 goals for 56 points. Additionally, Drakeley has recorded four defensive saves and has helped the Babson defense post 37 shutouts since 2015.
A two-time first-team All-American and 2016 NEWMAC Player of the Year, Tango has produced 54 goals and 51 assists for 159 points in 79 career games. She is the program's all-time leader in assists, ranks fourth in goals and is third in points. Tango also is just one point shy of joining Morgan Lockwood '14 as the only players in school history to record three straight 40-point seasons, and became one of just 17 players in Division III history with more than 50 goals and 50 assists back in early October.
No. 12 Babson (13-3, 7-0 NEWMAC), which clinched its fourth consecutive NEWMAC regular season title on Tuesday, travels to WPI for its league finale on Saturday at 1 p.m.
