BABSON PARK, Mass.—Coming off its fourth consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title last fall, Babson College field hockey coach Julie Ryan announced her program's 2019 schedule on Tuesday morning.
The Beavers, who will face six teams that earned NCAA Tournament berths in 2018, open the year with home games against Endicott on August 30 and Connecticut College on September 3 before traveling to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on September 7. The Green and White hosts the University of New England on September 10 and will visit Skidmore on September 13 prior welcoming two-time defending Division III national champions Middlebury to MacDowell Field for a showdown on September 15.
The Beavers open NEWMAC play with a home date against MIT on September 21 ahead of a six-game road trip that begins with a trip to Division III national runner-up Tufts on September 25. Babson visits Springfield on September 28 and Bates on October 1 before wrapping up the road stretch with conference tests at Mount Holyoke on October 5 and Wellesley on October 8.
The Green and White returns home for the first time in nearly a month to take on Clark on October 12 before heading to Wesleyan on October 13 and Smith on October 19. Babson wraps up league play with home dates against Wheaton (October 22) and WPI (October 26), which is followed by non-conference road games at Union on October 30 and Keene State on November 2 to conclude the regular season.
The six-team NEWMAC Tournament will get underway with a pair of quarterfinal matchups on November 5. The top two seeds will host semifinal contests on November 7, and the championship game is set for November 9 at the highest remaining seed.
