WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College sophomore goalkeeper Cassidy Riley (Catonsville, Md.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Riley made three starts posting a 0.99 goals against average and a .833 save percentage to go along with one shutout as No. 18 Babson won two of three games. She made eight saves in Tuesday's 1-0 OT victory over the University of New England, and stopped three shots in Friday's 2-1 win at Skidmore. Riley wrapped up the week by turning away four shots in a 2-0 loss to No. 1 Middlebury on Sunday afternoon.
On the year, Riley ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals against average (1.16), save percentage (.816) and shutouts (2).
Babson (4-2) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts MIT in its conference opener at 12 p.m.
