Maggie Chizmar was hired as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Babson College in September 2018.
Chizmar comes to Babson after spending more than a decade with the Northeast Maryland Select (NEMS) Lacrosse Club. Since 2005 she has served as a head coach with the club helping more than 35 of her players in the 2009 and 2014 graduating classes continue their careers at the collegiate level. Additionally, three athletes in Chizmar's most recent group, which will graduate in 2020, have already committed to play college lacrosse.
Along with her work with NEMS, Chizmar worked for the Coppermine Lacrosse Club from 2013-15, and spent the last three seasons as a varsity girls assistant coach at the John Carroll School in Bel Air, Md.
A four-year standout at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) from 2004-08, Chizmar started all but one game over her final two seasons with the Retrievers. She helped the program capture a share of its only America East Conference regular season title in 2006, and earned all-conference honors in both 2007 and 2008.
Chizmar, who served as a volunteer assistant coach at Johns Hopkins University during the 2008-09 campaign, most recently worked as the assistant general manager for Merritt Clubs in Baltimore.
