Men and Women Record Runner-up Finishes in Slalom at Blackwater/Proctor Ski Area

Babson Men Headed to 10th Straight USCSA Regional Championships, while Women Qualify for Third Straight Regional Appearance

ANDOVER, N.H.—The Babson College men's and women's alpine ski teams both finished second in the slalom in the final regular season race of the season on Sunday at Blackwater/Proctor Ski Area. By virtue of Saturday's results, both Beavers squads finished second in the MacConnell Division standings and qualified for next weekend's United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Regional Championships.

The Green and White had two skiers record top-five finishes in the men's race as first-year Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) came in second with a two-run time of 1:29.72, while classmate MacIntyre Henderson (Park City, Utah) finished fifth overall just 0.93 seconds behind him. Junior T.J. Pope (Bountiful, Utah) recorded a 12th-place showing and first-year Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 17th position.

First-year Douglas DeLuca (Holderness, N.H.) and junior John Boland (Waitsfield, Vt.) came in 19th and 23rd, respectively.

On the women's side, the Beavers were led by junior Tatum Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario), who finished seventh overall with a time of 1:41.10. Sophomore Teagan Mosenthal (Campton, N.H.) finished 2.52 seconds behind her in ninth place, while sophomore Olivia Burwell (Manchester Center, Vt.) and senior Kristen Sweeney (Westport, Conn.) were separated by just 0.19 seconds in 13th and 14th place, respectively.

Junior Michelle Martin (Belmont, Mass.) placed 16th and senior Molly Danzig (Allendale, N.J.) finished 28th for Babson.

The Beavers will return to West Mountain in Queensbury, N.Y., for the USCSA Regional Championships where they will compete in the giant slalom on Saturday and the slalom on Sunday.
