Three From Women's Alpine Ski Earn All-MacConnell Division Honors

CASTLETON, Vt.—Seniors Michelle Martin (Belmont, Mass.) and Tatum Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) and sophomore Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) all earned All-MacConnell Division honors when the league officially released its postseason awards on Friday.

The 2017 MacConnell Division Rookie of the Year, Baer collected her second all-league honor by finishing tied for second in the standings. She recorded five podium finishes, including a pair of wins and two runner-up results, and placed no worse than sixth in the nine races she completed this winter.

Martin matched the best league finish of her career and is now one of just three skiers in program history to earn all-league honors in three different seasons after coming in sixth in the individual standings. She placed seventh or higher in all seven races she completed, which includes one runner-up result and three top-five showings.

Alkier joined Martin and Kristen Sweeney '17 as the only three-time MacConnell Division honorees in program history by finishing ninth in the regular season standings. The Beavers' only skier to complete all 10 races this season, she posted seven top-10 finishes and came in lower than 12th just one time.

Babson will make its fourth straight United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships appearance at West Mountain on February 24-25.
