CASTLETON, Vt.—Three members of the Babson College women's ski team were honored when the MacConnell Division released its postseason award winners late last week.
Junior Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) earned all-league honors for the third year in a row, while sophomore Sarah Mangiacotti (South Londonderry, Vt.) and first-year Julia Martin (Belmont, Mass.) both garnered All-MacConnell Division accolades for the first time. In addition to the all-league awards, senior Olivia Burwell (Manchester Center, Vt.) was named to the sportsmanship team.
Mangiacotti came in third in the season-long standings to match the second best finish by a Beavers' female skier in league history. She recorded one win, one third-place finish, and posted six top-seven results, and along with Martin gave Babson two first-year skiers on the all-league team for the first time since 2015.
Just the fourth female skier in program history to earn three All-MacConnell Division awards, Baer came in eighth overall in the individual standings. She finished nine of 10 races, recorded a pair of third-place results, and posted six top-10 showings for the Green and White.
Martin put together a strong first-year campaign finishing nine of 10 races and placing 15th in the overall standings. She posted four top-10 results and finished 17th or better eight times, which includes all six races over the final three weekends of competition.
Babson returns to action this weekend when it travels to the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. The Beavers will compete in the slalom and giant slalom beginning on Saturday morning.
