Women's Alpine Ski Finishes Fifth in Slalom at Pat's Peak

HENNIKER, N.H.—Senior Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) came in seventh overall as the Babson College women's alpine ski team placed fifth in the slalom at Pat's Peak on Saturday.

Castleton won its sixth consecutive race finishing more than 11 seconds ahead of second-place Brown. Connecticut and Saint Anselm came in third and fourth, respectively.

Baer posted a two-run time of 1:42.67 that was a little more than five seconds off the pace of Li Aunes of Castleton. The seventh-place showing marked the seventh consecutive time she has finished inside the top 10 this season.

First-year Lauren Abdow (South Londonderry, Vt.) recorded the seventh fastest second run to come in ninth overall, less than a second behind Baer, while sophomore Julia Martin (Belmont, Mass.) finished in 34th position. Classmate Kendall Sargis (Duxbury, Mass.) placed 40th and junior Sarah Mangiacotti (South Londonderry, Vt.), who was 11th following her first run, was unable to complete a second trip down the hill.

Babson returns to action on Sunday morning when it competes in the giant slalom at Mount Sunapee Resort.
